Film press planner

Enter the frame or disc, the target thickness, the density of the polymer and the pressure you want on the film. The tool gives the charge to weigh, the force on the cavity, and which PressPro™ platen presses fit in size, force range and temperature. Pick a defect to see the causes linked to it.

Charge = cavity area × thickness × density, plus the extra you enter; the frame, not the force, sets the thickness. Force = pressure on the film × cavity area ÷ 9800. The fit compares the cavity with the platen and, where the specification prints it narrower, the working space; the frame itself is larger than its cavity, so check its outer size as well. The heating range of every model starts at room temperature, so the pressing temperature is compared with the room temperature you enter. The tool does not check how long the film takes to reach temperature, the cooling, or whether a polymer flows or degrades under these conditions; drying and molding conditions belong to the polymer and its standard.
