Pressure on the sample between platens
Choose a PressPro™ platen press, set the force and enter the footprint of the sample or mold. The calculation gives the nominal pressure on the sample. The equipment check then says, separately, whether this model can run the job as entered.
Sample or mold footprint
Temperature during pressing
Nominal average pressure over the footprint. A correct pressure calculation does not mean the press suits the job: footprint, tooling height, force range and temperature are each checked against the data printed for the selected model. A set temperature has to lie above the room temperature you enter and within the printed heating range; pressing with no temperature control is a separate choice and involves no temperature check. Control performance near room temperature is outside the scope of this tool. Pressing temperature, pressure and time depend on the material.
