Pellet or fused bead: route comparison

Enter the bead recipe and the binder share of your pellet to see how much each route dilutes the analyte. Then switch on the requirements that apply. The tool lists what each requirement says about the two routes. It does not pick one for you, because the choice depends on which requirements matter most.

Requirements that apply (select any)

Dilution is the mass share of sample in the specimen: sample ÷ (sample + flux) for the bead, 100 % minus the binder share for the pellet. Ratios are written sample:flux. Oxidants and release agents, and the mass lost on ignition, are not counted. Dilution is arithmetic; detection limits do not follow it one for one. The requirements and the reasons are those of the table in the article, with the studies they come from. A PressPro™ press makes the pellet route possible; the bead route needs a fusion furnace or bead machine, which is not part of the range.
