Atmosphere and fit check
Switch on what applies to your sample, then enter the temperature, the footprint, the height of the stack between the platens and the pressure. The tool lists what each sensitivity says about room air, vacuum and inert gas, checks the four vacuum models for size, working height, force range and temperature, and shows the platen presses in room air that would also fit.

The atmosphere lines are the table of the article, with its wording. Fit: the footprint is compared with the platen, the stack height with the 60 mm working height of the vacuum chamber or the daylight of a press in room air, and the force (pressure × footprint ÷ 9800) with the printed range of each model, including its lower limit. The heating range of every model starts at room temperature, so the pressing temperature is compared with the room temperature you enter. −0.1 MPa is a gauge reading; the absolute pressure reached depends on the pump, the seals and what the sample gives off. The tool does not judge whether a material needs vacuum, how much a vacuum improves a given polymer, or how air-sensitive material is handled outside the press.
