XRF pellet: binder, thickness and nominal pressure
Set the die, the mass of sample, the binder fraction and the force. The calculator gives the binder to weigh, the mass dilution of the mixture, an estimated pellet thickness and the nominal pressure on the pellet.
Die diameter
Thickness follows from the density you enter and excludes any boric-acid backing or cup. The dilution figure is a ratio of masses. How intensities change with dilution depends on the matrix, the element and the calibration, and is part of the analytical method, as are binder fraction, force and hold time.
