The vacuum controller serves as a device for labs to display, adjust and control the degree of vacuum in vacuum systems. It generally constitutes the vacuum control system of a rotary evaporator along with a vacuum pump, which enables repeatable distillation experiments and the recovery of many kinds of solvents in an efficient and automatic manner. The VC100 offers a vacuum setting range and measurement range of 1–1000mbar, two control modes (single-point control and programmed control) and a program memory of up to 5 programs, each containing 5 steps in which the degree of vacuum and the time can be set. Settings are made on a 5" TFT touch screen; all parts in contact with vapor or liquid are made of PTFE, ceramics or other high-performance materials.

Where it fits

The VC100 is used together with a vacuum pump as the vacuum control system of a rotary evaporator, for repeatable distillation experiments and the recovery of many kinds of solvents in an efficient and automatic manner. It can be connected with pump power control for temporary shutdown of the pump power supply after a stable degree of vacuum is reached, or operated with the pump in the normally open status. Parts in contact with vapor are listed as PTFE, PP, silicone and ceramics; the connector diameter is 8mm and the sensor overload pressure 1,500mbar. The listed compatible conditions with a vacuum pump are a 50Hz pump power of ≤400W and a 60Hz pump power of ≤500W.

Frequently asked questions

What vacuum range can the VC100 set and measure?

The vacuum setting range and the vacuum measurement range are both 1–1000mbar; the sensor overload pressure is 1,500mbar.

Which control modes and programs are available?

Single-point control mode and programmed control mode. Up to 5 programs can be stored, each containing 5-step control (capable to set the degree of vacuum and time).

How is it operated?

By touch screen setting on a 5" TFT display.

Which materials are in contact with vapor?

PTFE, PP, silicone and ceramics; all parts in contact with vapor or liquid are made of PTFE, ceramics or other high-performance materials that resist corrosion caused by organic solvents, water, acid and alkali.

Can inert gas be fed into the system?

Yes, the built-in vent valve can feed inert gas into system equipment.

Which vacuum pumps can be used?

The brochure lists compatible conditions with a vacuum pump: the power of a 50Hz vacuum pump ≤400W and of a 60Hz vacuum pump ≤500W. It can be connected with pump power control or operated with the pump in the normally open status.

What are the power supply, size and weight?

Power 600W; voltage 110 240V, 50Hz/60Hz; overall dimensions [W×D×H] 189×207×193mm; weight 4.0kg; connector diameter 8mm.

What operating environment is listed?

10–40°C, ≤80%RH.
