ALab™ EcoVac Economical Vacuum Aspirator
Product Detail
ALab™ EcoVac Economical Vacuum Aspirator — a small, compact and easy-to-use system for the convenient handling of liquid waste disposal, with a 0–500 mbar vacuum range, a 2 L standard bottle and a brushless motor.

The EcoVac is a small, compact and easy to use system for the convenient handling of liquid waste disposal. It is suitable for any application where the single liquid suction volume is less than 2 L. The applicability includes use of various common consumables, which can be widely used in the collection and removal of liquids in experiments of microorganisms, molecules, proteins, cells, etc., and other applications such as RNA/DNA extraction, Western blots and ELISA. It is easy to switch between manual aspiration and two-level adjustable continuous aspiration (Level 1: standard continuous aspiration mode; Level 2: fast continuous aspiration mode enhanced).

Frequently asked questions
Where can the EcoVac be used?
The EcoVac is suitable for any application where the single liquid suction volume is less than 2 L, for example in the collection and removal of liquids in experiments of microorganisms, molecules, proteins and cells, and in applications such as RNA/DNA extraction, Western blots and ELISA.
Which tasks are listed for it?
Aspiration of supernatants after centrifugation, aspiration of eluent, removal of supernatants during nucleic acid extraction, removal of culture media, removal of wash solutions from immuno-assay well-plate, removal of buffers of Western blot strips, and removal of excess liquid from slides and Petri dishes.
How does the aspiration work?
It is easy to switch between manual aspiration and continuous aspiration mode, reducing RSI (Repetitive Strain Injury) and improving efficiency. The continuous mode is adjustable in two levels: Level 1 is the standard continuous aspiration mode and Level 2 is the fast continuous aspiration mode enhanced. The vacuum level is adjustable, with an indicator light.
Which bottle sizes are listed?
The bottle is 2 L standard; 1 L is optional with adaptor. The collection bottle outlet has a hydrophobic filter that prevents aerosol and liquid contamination.
Which parts can be autoclaved?
The parts in contact with liquids can be autoclaved.
Which adapters are listed?
Different adapters are available to fit a multitude of laboratory supplies. The adapters table lists A: 8-channel tip detrusion adapter 200μL tip; B: 8 channel needle Ø1.5mm; C to F: single needles; G: tip detrusion adapter 200μL tip; H: tip detrusion adapter 1mL tip; I: 1L bottle fitting; J: 1L collection bottle; K: Handle Hoop (Vacuum Aspirator).
What are the vacuum, size and weight data?
Vacuum range 0–500 mbar, max. flow 15 L/min (air), max. aspiration speed 17 mL/s (liquid), brushless motor, input voltage 100–220 VAC, 50/60 Hz. Dimensions 180×240×340 mm (W×D×H); weight 2.8 kg.
