Product Detail

ALab™ dFlow Electronic Bottle-Top Dispenser is a motor-driven bottle-top dispenser for reagent delivery in the laboratory. It offers a 0.1–99.9 mL volume range and a 10 mL maximum piston lift as separate specifications, at 100 µL resolution. Dispensing is driven by a stepper motor under digital control. Speed: 16 levels; aspiration and dispensing speed are adjustable. Two operating modes: continuous dispenser and stepper. Quality Control: ISO 8655.

Volume accuracy, by nominal volume

Accuracy is specified individually at three nominal volumes, and the values are not interchangeable: at 1 mL both R and CV are 10 times the corresponding values at 10 mL.

Nominal volumeRelative error RCoefficient of variation CV
10 mL0.5%0.3%
5 mL1.0%0.6%
1 mL5.0%3.0%

R is relative error and CV is coefficient of variation. Where a method depends on accuracy at small volumes, select against the value specified for that nominal volume rather than against the 10 mL value.

Where it fits · The dispensing range

The motorized position in the ALab™ dispensing range. The range also includes the DispensMate, DispensMate-Pro and DispensMate-HF bottle-top dispensers and the dTrite-Pro electronic burette. The dFlow is the motor-driven bottle-top dispenser in the range: stepper-motor dispensing, adjustable aspiration and dispensing speed, two operating modes, a TFT display module and external control. Specifications for the other models are given on their own product pages.

FAQ

How do the 0.1–99.9 mL range and the 10 mL piston lift relate?

They are two separate specifications: a 0.1–99.9 mL volume range and a 10 mL maximum piston lift.

How accurate is it at small volumes?

Accuracy is specified at three nominal volumes: R = 0.5% and CV = 0.3% at 10 mL, R = 1.0% and CV = 0.6% at 5 mL, and R = 5.0% and CV = 3.0% at 1 mL. At 1 mL both R and CV are 10 times the corresponding values at 10 mL. Select against the value specified for the volume you actually dispense.

Which reagents can it be used with?

The dFlow is intended for dispensing bases, saline solutions, acids and some organic solvents. Chemical compatibility depends on the specific reagent and concentration.

What does “external control” mean here?

Control type: external control. The dFlow is operated from a separate control/display unit, with a TFT display module for volume selection and control.

What are the two operating modes?

Two operating modes: continuous dispenser and stepper.

Is dimensional, weight or power data available?

Dimensions, weight, power requirements and bottle thread: confirm at quotation.
