The VCD is equipped with a vacuum pump with a pumping speed of 90 m³/h (from atmosphere to 1 Pa in 12 seconds) and reaches an ultimate pressure of <0.5 Pa; a Pirani gauge provides the vacuum readout. The maximum substrate size is 150 × 150 mm (other sizes available upon request) and the substrate chamber height is 6 mm.

On the VCD, heating is customizable and a side-mounted flow meter has a range of 0.1–1 L/min. It is operated from a 7-inch touchscreen display. The unit has a compact design, measuring 300 × 372 × 300 mm (W × D × H) with a weight of 15 kg, and it is packed in a paper case.
