Product Detail

The ALab™ DMS5-280 LED Digital Display Heating Magnetic Stirrer pairs a Ø135 mm ceramic-coated aluminium work plate with a brushless DC drive running 200–1500 rpm in 10 rpm steps. The plate temperature range is room temperature to 280 °C from a 600 W heating output, and the maximum stirring quantity is 5 L (H₂O). Speed and temperature have separate LED displays, with a temperature display accuracy of ± 1 °C. An input for an external PT1000 temperature sensor gives a temperature control accuracy of ± 0.2 °C. Overheating protection is set at 320 °C, and a “HOT” residual-heat warning appears from a plate temperature of 50 °C and stays visible after the instrument is switched off.

ALab DMS5-280 heating magnetic stirrer with a 135 mm ceramic-coated work plate and LED controls for speed and temperature
ALab™ DMS5-280 — Ø135 mm ceramic-coated aluminium work plate, separate LED readouts for speed and plate temperature, and a touch panel with audible key prompts.

Why choose the DMS5-280

280 °C plate from a 1.8 kg instrumentA 600 W heating output across a Ø135 mm plate, in a 260 × 150 × 100 mm footprint weighing 1.8 kg.
± 0.2 °C with a PT1000 sensorThe external temperature sensor input takes a PT1000 and gives a temperature control accuracy of ± 0.2 °C, against a ± 1 °C temperature display accuracy.
Adjustable PT1000 bracketThe sensor bracket adjusts the PT1000 to different angles, so the sensor can be positioned to avoid interference.
Residual heat stays signpostedA “HOT” warning appears from a plate temperature of 50 °C and remains visible after the instrument is switched off. Overheating protection is set at 320 °C.

FAQ

What is the difference between the ± 1 °C and ± 0.2 °C figures?

They are two separate specifications. ± 1 °C is the temperature display accuracy. ± 0.2 °C is the external temperature sensor temperature control accuracy, which applies when a PT1000 sensor is connected. The two figures are not interchangeable.

Does the 280 °C range apply to the sample?

The 280 °C value is the work-plate temperature range. Actual medium temperature depends on the vessel, fill volume, medium and ambient conditions; use a connected PT1000 sensor to monitor the medium.

What size stir bar does it take, and how much can it stir?

Maximum magnetic bar length is 40 mm. Maximum stirring quantity is 5 L, specified with H₂O as the reference medium.

What does the “HOT” warning do?

The “HOT” warning threshold is 50 °C. The display flashes “HOT” as a residual-heat reminder, and the warning remains visible after the instrument is switched off. Treat it as an indicator and check the plate before handling it.

What is the work plate made of?

Aluminium with a ceramic coating, giving fast heat transfer along with corrosion resistance and wear resistance. Confirm suitability for specific reagents at quotation.

What is the protection class?

Protection class: IP21. Permissible ambient conditions are 5–40 °C at 80% RH. Confirm the installation environment at quotation.

What supply does it need?

Rated input is 100–120 V / 200–240 V at 50/60 Hz. Plug, cord and certification requirements are confirmed at quotation.

Is a PT1000 sensor supplied with the instrument?

The instrument provides an external temperature sensor input for a PT1000. Sensor and accessory configuration is confirmed at quotation.
