ALab™ MX-Pro Infrared Digital Vortex Mixer
Product Detail
ALab™ MX-Pro Infrared Digital Vortex Mixer provides an efficient and precise vortex mixing solution for the laboratory. Speed is adjustable from 100–3000 rpm with a 4.5 mm amplitude, an LCD shows real-time speed and time, and dual-sided IR sensing detects a tube for automatic mixing. Two operating modes are available: IR and Continuous.

With a sleek, streamlined design, the MX-Pro brings a digital interface with real-time speed and time display, so users can set and monitor mixing parameters easily. Its stable vortex motion ensures uniform sample mixing, making it suitable for molecular biology, chemical analysis, and other scientific research fields. A brushless DC motor, a sturdy base, and pressure-mounted accessories keep operation stable, and a range of top cups, tube adapters, clamps, and microplate holders adapts the mixer to different tubes, flasks, and plates.

Frequently asked questions
What operating modes does the MX-Pro have?
Two: IR and Continuous. IR mode uses dual-sided IR sensing for automatic tube detection and mixing; Continuous mode provides continuous operation. The time range is 1 s – 99 min 59 s, and the LCD shows real-time speed and time.
What are the speed range and amplitude?
The speed is adjustable from 100 to 3000 rpm, and the amplitude is 4.5 mm. The VT2.5 Erlenmeyer flask attachment has a stated operating speed of 0~1500 rpm.
Can every attachment be used at 3000 rpm?
Do not assume so. The MX-Pro instrument is specified for 100–3000 rpm, while the VT2.5 Erlenmeyer flask attachment has a published operating-speed entry of 0~1500 rpm. The accessory entry does not establish a user-selectable 0 rpm operating mode for the instrument. Follow both the instrument and the fitted accessory limits.
Which tubes and vessels can I mix?
With the accessories listed above: tube adapters for 25 × 1 mL, 21 × 2 mL, 16 × 5 mL, 8 × 15 mL, and 4 × 50 mL test tubes (on the VT2.6 snap-in universal top plate); horizontal plastic clamps for 24 × 1.5 mL, 12 × 15 mL, and 6 × 50 mL test tubes; the VT2.4 attachment for 4 ampules/tubes (0.2–15 mL); and the VT2.5 attachment for 100–250 mL Erlenmeyer flasks.
Can the MX-Pro mix microplates?
Yes, with the PS2.1 microplate clamp or the PS2.2 snap-in microplate clamp. Both are suitable for full-skirt PCR plates, cell culture plates, enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay plates, deep well plates, and similar plates. Half-skirt and no-skirt PCR plates need to be used with the rectangular foam, which is included with the clamp.
What is included as standard?
The MX-Pro main unit and the VT2.2 flat rubber sleeve (standard). Other accessories are listed by catalog number, and the final scope of supply is confirmed on the quotation.
How does the MX-Pro differ from the MX-S+?
Both run at 100–3000 rpm with an LCD, a brushless DC motor, and the same 1 s – 99 min 59 s time range, and they share the VT2 / PS2 accessory range. The MX-Pro adds IR mode (MX-S+: touch mode), has a 4.5 mm amplitude (MX-S+: 4 mm), and uses its own VT2.1 top cup (Cat. No. 18901379).
What power supply and environment does it need?
Power supply: 100–240 V, 50/60 Hz; input voltage: 24 V; power consumption: 30 W. Ambient temperature and humidity: 5–40 °C, 80% RH. Enclosure protection: IP21.
