ALab™ Q0408E Low-Speed Centrifuge
Product Detail
ALab™ Q0408E Low-Speed Centrifuge is built around programmed workflows. It runs from 300 to 4000 rpm in 10 rpm steps to 1860 ×g with a single published 8 × 15 mL rotor configuration that accepts PRP tubes, and supports segmented centrifugation with one-click recall of PRP, PRF and CGF procedures — CGF alone provides 9 programmes of 6 segments each, within a total memory of 99 programmes. A brushless DC motor, IP20 protection and a running self-locking function are standard.

Chosen for its programming, not for its g-force. At 1860 ×g the Q0408E has the lowest published maximum in this range — the DM0506 reaches 2600 ×g and the DM0412 2490 ×g — but neither publishes PRP, PRF or CGF procedures or 99 program memories. Where the requirement is a repeatable stored protocol for biologically active preparations, that is the deciding factor; where it is raw separation force or a wider range of tube sizes, the DM0506 or DM0412 is the better fit.
Is this the right centrifuge for your tubes?
The Q0408E is chosen for its programming rather than for g-force: at 1860 ×g it is the lowest maximum in this range, but it is the only model here with published PRP, PRF and CGF procedures and 99 program memories. The tool below separates tube compatibility from control features, so the two are compared independently rather than one standing in for the other.
Model: RCF = r · ω² / g with ω = 2πN/60 and g = 9.80665 m/s², equivalent to RCF = 1.118 × 10⁻⁵ · r[cm] · N². Each configuration carries its own radius, labelled published where the published data state it and derived where it is back-calculated from the published maximum speed and RCF. Neither value is a measured value. Selection resolves a tube / rotor / adapter path and checks the path-specific RCF where it is published; otherwise the configuration is flagged for confirmation. It does not account for refrigeration, throughput, footprint or price. A schematic teaching tool, not selection software.
FAQ
What makes the Q0408E different from the other low-speed models?
Programming. It publishes PRP, PRF and CGF procedures with one-click recall, segmented centrifugation of 9 programmes with 6 steps each, and 99 program memories. The DM0412 and DM0506 do not publish comparable programmed workflows.
Is 1860 ×g enough?
That depends entirely on the protocol. It is the lowest maximum among the four models here; if a procedure specifies a higher figure, the DM0506 at 2600 ×g or the DM0412 at 2490 ×g is the appropriate choice. Always work to the protocol rather than to the instrument maximum.
What tubes does it take?
Eight 15 mL tubes, including PRP tubes. No alternative rotors or adapters are published for this model.
What is segmented centrifugation?
A run divided into steps, each with its own speed and duration, executed in sequence. CGF preparation in particular is specified this way, and the Q0408E provides 9 programmes of 6 segments each.
Can I see RCF as well as rpm?
Yes — rotational speed and relative centrifugal force toggle on the display for readout.
What are the published safety features?
Running process display, a status diagnostic system, sound prompt function and a running self-locking function, with IP20 protection and a published noise level of ≤ 55 dB(A). Load the rotor symmetrically and never exceed its rated speed.
