Product Detail

ALab™ RE200-Pro 20 L Industrial Digital Rotary Evaporator is a pilot-scale rotary evaporation system for large-volume distillation, separation, sample concentration and solvent recovery. A large LCD shows heating temperature, rotation speed, direction and time; one-click motorized lifting raises the 20 L evaporating flask over a 180 mm stroke; and a two-section vertical triple-coil condenser with 1.2 m² of cooling surface supports up to 4.5 L/h on 75% alcohol.

ALab RE200-Pro 20 L industrial digital rotary evaporator with two-section triple-coil condenser, 20 L evaporating flask and 10 L receiving flask on a mobile frame
ALab™ RE200-Pro — 20 L evaporating flask, 10 L receiving flask with drain valve, two-section triple-coil condenser and water/oil bath on a mobile frame. The vacuum gauge and support hardware shown are not included unless specified in the quotation.

Why choose the RE200-Pro

Pilot-scale throughputA 20 L evaporating flask with up to 4.5 L/h evaporation capacity on 75% alcohol — the step from bench batches to process quantities; operating parameters should be re-optimized for the larger vapor load, heat-transfer area and condenser duty.
Continuous collectionThe 10 L receiving flask carries a drain valve, and the switch-valve arrangement supports continuous distillate removal without breaking the system vacuum, so long runs need not be interrupted.
One-click motorized liftingA 180 mm motorized stroke raises and lowers the loaded flask smoothly; a connector device makes fitting the evaporating flask quick, and a PTFE double sealing ring maintains vacuum tightness.
Layered protectionMotor over-current, earth-leakage, lifting-overload, boil-dry and overheating protection — the safety package that large-volume, long-duration operation calls for.

Find your working vacuum

A rotary evaporation system lives on the interplay of pressure and temperature: lower the system pressure and the solvent boils at a gentler temperature. Pick your solvent and drag the pressure to see where the boiling point lands:

Model: Antoine vapor-pressure equation lg P = A − B/(C + T) for pure solvents within published coefficient ranges; the bath and condenser guides follow the Δ20 °C (20/40/60) rule of thumb. The 13 mbar reference line in the tool is the C410 pump’s ultimate-vacuum rating. The RE200-Pro has a manufacturer-stated ultimate-vacuum rating below 2.6 mbar; a deeper-vacuum pump is required only when the intended process must approach that limit, and final pump selection must also account for pumping speed and vapor load. The tool computes ideal boiling points for pure solvents — it does not predict the evaporation rate of a 20 L system and is not a pump-selection tool. Curves are schematic teaching aids, not performance data for a specific solvent lot or system.

Vacuum pump, recirculating chiller and vacuum-control options are ordered separately and matched to the process.

System configuration · Confirmed at quotation

Pump, recirculating chiller and vacuum-control options are system-level configuration items. They are selected separately and confirmed at quotation according to the intended process. The manufacturer states an ultimate vacuum below 2.6 mbar for the RE200-Pro; the benchtop C410 diaphragm pump is rated to 13 mbar and is specified by the manufacturer for the RE100-Pro and RE100-S, not for this system. Selection is made against your solvents, batch size and target working pressure — together with the electrical connection (single or three phase, rated current, breaker size, plug or hard-wiring and supply cord).

FAQ

What vacuum pump does the RE200-Pro need?

The manufacturer states an ultimate vacuum of less than 2.6 mbar for the RE200-Pro. Vacuum-pump selection depends on the solvent, vapor load, desired working pressure, pumping speed and complete system configuration; if the process must approach the published ultimate-vacuum limit, a suitably deeper-vacuum pump is required. Tell us your solvents, batch size and target working pressure and the pump is matched at quotation.

How does it compare with the benchtop RE100 models?

The RE100-Pro and RE100-S take flasks up to 3 L and evaporate up to 1.56 L/h of water. The RE200-Pro takes a 20 L flask and reaches 4.5 L/h on 75% alcohol, with a 1.2 m² condenser instead of 1200–1700 cm². Method development stays on the bench; the RE200-Pro carries the process into 20 L pilot batches, with parameters re-optimized for the larger vapor load and condenser duty.

Can distillate be collected without stopping the run?

Yes — the 10 L receiving flask has a drain valve, and the switch-valve arrangement supports continuous distillate removal without breaking the system vacuum.

What space and services does it need?

The unit measures 1160 × 600 × 1860 mm on a mobile frame and runs on 220 V, 50/60 Hz with a total power of 4600 W. Allow clearance above the condenser column for glassware handling, and plan cooling-water or chiller connections at the 16 mm hose nozzles.

Water bath or oil bath?

The bath supports water or oil heating over a manufacturer-stated overall range from room temperature to 180 °C, under microprocessor PID control with ±1 °C accuracy in water and ±3 °C in oil. Water is used for lower-temperature operation, while a suitable heat-transfer oil is required for higher temperatures — confirm medium-specific operating limits in the operating manual. The system includes boil-dry and overheating protection.

How do I choose bath temperature and vacuum together?

Start from the Δ20 °C rule: set the vacuum so the solvent boils about 20 °C below the bath, and keep the condenser about 20 °C below the vapor temperature. The interactive tool on this page computes it per solvent; at 20 L scale, confirm the result against your own process and condenser capacity.
