Carbon Nanohorns

Single-walled carbon nanohorns (SWNH or SWCNH) are a horn-shaped sheath aggregate of graphene sheets. The unique structure of these horns that includes a high surface area as well as microporosity make single-walled carbon nanohorns a promising material for a number of applications, including gas adsorption, gas storage, catalyst support for fuel cells, biosensing, and drug delivery. Single-walled carbon nanohorns from ACS Materials are prepared using the ARC discharge method, which produces nanohorns with purity levels consistently higher than 90% and particle sizes of about 50 nm, smaller than nanohorns prepared with CO2 lasers.
