Graphene Quantum Dots
Graphene quantum dots (GQDs) are still in the process of realizing their full potential. Considered a zero-dimensional (0D) material, they combine the properties of carbon dots (CDs) and graphene. This grants them several unique characteristics, and they've shown promise in many different areas of research. One such field is electronic, photoluminescence, electrochemical, and electrochemiluminescence sensor fabrication. GQDs offer a valuable material, which may one day be commonly used for bioanalysis, chemical analysis, and physical analysis. The impact that could have on chemical manufacturing, medical research, and beyond is not yet known, but many scientists and researchers are quite hopeful. The true scope of what GQDs can help us achieve could be greater than anyone currently imagines.
