SKU# EIAH1

Product Detail

InSitu Pro™ AH1000 and AH1200 are the ultra-high-temperature members of the optical heating line, built for studying the temperature-dependent optical performance of samples all the way to 1000 or 1200 °C. A planar ceramic stage carries the sample under a reflective light path, resistive heating holds ±0.1 °C, and a water-cooled top cover protects the stage body at the extreme end.

Key features

  • 1000 or 1200 °C, one platformTwo ceilings on the same body: RT to 1000 °C (AH1000) or 1200 °C (AH1200) — the step above the AH200–AH800 heating family and below the 1400–1500 °C AH1500-RG / AH1400-RG-XY family.
  • ±0.1 °C with three control modesThe controller and software support fixed-point holds, ramp-rate control, and multi-segment programmable profiles.
  • Up to 50 °C·min⁻¹ heating · controllable cool-downFast climbs with a controllable cooling rate on the way down — no cryogens, no compressors.
  • Planar ceramic stage, reflective opticsA flat ceramic 20 × 20 mm stage viewed through the top window on a reflective light path.
  • Water-cooled top coverA water-circulation circuit in the top cover protects the stage body during 1000–1200 °C operation — the circulation system is standard configuration, not an option.
  • φ25 mm JGS2 window, hand-removableJGS2 quartz (220–2500 nm) covers UV through near-IR, manually removable and replaceable for cleaning.
  • Software, SDK & quote-ready orderingHost-computer software handles temperature setting and data acquisition; LabVIEW VIs / C# SDK support customized programming. Request pricing via this page or the Stage Selector.

High-temperature atmosphere: plan for oxidation

When operated in air or another oxidizing atmosphere, many metals and alloys can oxidize rapidly at 1000–1200 °C. Under diffusion-controlled conditions, oxide growth is often approximated by parabolic kinetics; actual behavior depends on material composition, surface condition, temperature, atmosphere, and exposure time. Hold a sample for an hour at a working temperature and see:

Model: parabolic oxidation x² = k·t with an Arrhenius rate constant — an approximation for diffusion-controlled oxidation, not every material or temperature; the vacuum panel illustrates the model response when the oxidant supply is suppressed. AH1000 and AH1200 are specified with an atmosphere chamber — confirm the intended operating atmosphere and applicable conditions at quotation; no vacuum capability is listed in their standard specifications. Curves are schematic, not performance data for a specific stage or sample.

FAQ

AH1000 or AH1200 — which one?

The two share one platform: the same 95 × 160 × 24 mm body, ceramic 20 × 20 mm stage, optics, and controller — the difference is the 1000 vs 1200 °C ceiling. If any protocol may push past 1000 °C, take the AH1200 headroom.

Hotter still — or cooling too?

For 1400–1500 °C work, step up to the AH1500-RG / AH1400-RG-XY family. And these are heating-only stages — the cooling rate on the way down is controllable, but there is no refrigeration below ambient; for sub-ambient points, the LN₂ family (−190 °C) or the Peltier family (−25 to 120 °C) is the right tool.

Will my sample oxidize at 1000–1200 °C?

If the stage is operated in air, many metals and alloys can oxidize rapidly at these temperatures — the rate depends on composition, surface condition, temperature, atmosphere, and exposure time, and the simulator above gives a schematic comparison rather than a material-specific prediction. Some oxides, ceramics, refractories, and minerals may be more suitable, depending on phase stability, atmosphere compatibility, and exposure time. No vacuum capability is listed in the standard specifications for AH1000 or AH1200 — for oxidation-sensitive work, confirm the intended operating atmosphere at quotation.

What does the water-cooled top cover do?

The top cover carries a water-circulation circuit that protects the cover and stage body while the ceramic stage runs at up to 1200 °C. The circulation system is part of the standard configuration — it ships with every unit, not as an option.

How do I order?

AH1000 / AH1200 are configured to your optics and quoted individually. Use the quote request on this page or the Stage Selector, tell us your microscope or spectrometer and target temperatures, and our engineers confirm the configuration and reply with pricing and lead time.
